Present Concepts in Internal Medicine, Ambulatory Internal Medicine Care Symposium, 1976,

Abstract

The symposium consists of nine articles reviewing various aspects of Ambulatory Internal Medicine. One article presents a discussion on the training of the internist for the practice of Internal medicine. The same author also examines the basic considerations and management options of obesity in another article. The symposium includes articles on uncomplicated gonorrhea, the out-patient management of adult-onset diabetes, the irritable bowel syndrome, out-patient compliance with prescriptions for self-medication, and the evaluation and conservative management of low back pain. An article on the clinical psychologist as a resource in health care is also presented. (Author)
