A Quantitative Assay to Measure Physostigmine in Human Whole Blood.

Abstract

This report describes a quantitative assay method for measuring physostigmine in human whole blood. Blood samples are maintained at 37 C, and cholinesterase activity is measured periodically. The time required for enzyme reactivation is related to physostigmine concentration. The precision of the method is within + or - 4% over a physostigmine concentration range of 0.5 to 5.0 x 10 to the minus 7th power mol/liter. (Author)
