Interfacing a Database Management System to Coral,

Abstract

A data base management system is described, where the data consists of a number of record occurrances, each containing several data fields. The data base management system provides a number of functions, by means of which applications programs, written in CORAL, gain protected access to the data. The form of protection provided is described and the relationship between the data structures used in the CORAL applications programs and those in the data base management system is shown. The possible advantages offered by enhancements to the CORAL 66 compiler are outlined.
