Chemotherapy of 'Trypanosoma Rhodesiense'.

Abstract

A screening procedure, based on blood-induced Trypanosoma rhodeiense infections in mice, has been developed. Performing as a primary screen or as a secondary screen and confirmatory test, this test system gives precise quantitative evaluations of the chemical compounds that demonstrate potentially useful therapeutic and/or prophylactic activity in T. rhodesiense infections. Consequently, it is also a helpful guide-line in the synthesis of new active agents.
