Simple Thickness Modes and Shear Correction Coefficients for Viscoelastic Timoshenko Beams.

Abstract

A viscoelastic formulation of the Timoshenko beam theory is developed for viscoelastic constitutive equations in the form of the standard linear model. Viscoelastic shear correction coefficients are obtained by a direct comparison of simple thickness modes obtained from a viscoelastic continuum theory and from the approximate Timoshenko theory.
