Dynamics of the Chemistry of Electronically Excited Atoms in Defined Quantum States.

Abstract

The investigation of excited state chemistry has centered on the photodissociation of alkyl iodides and subsequent chemistry of the photofragments. In addition studies have been made of the deactivation of Br(14)doublet P(1/2) by the hydrogen isotopes, the results being compared to previously reported theoretical calculations. The role of E-V transfer in such quenching processes is also considered.
