A Preliminary Assessment of the Tidal Power Potential at Two Sites in the Vicinity of Cutler, Maine.

Abstract

This is a preliminary assessment of Machias Bay and Little Machias Bay near Culter, Maine, as potential sites for a tidal power plant to provide electrical power for nearby Naval radio stations. This report contains a discussion of the power requirements and energy potential at these sites, tidal power plant systems which might be used, and economic considerations. The analysis consists primarily of a comparison with the operating tidal power plant at Rance, France. (Author)
