Recruiting and Retaining the Wisconsin Guardsman: An Organizational Communication Approach.

Abstract

This study is a comprehensive analysis of the motivations for enlistment, the gratifications associated with serving in the Army National Guard, and the organizational characteristics of the actual Guard unit in which the individual is serving. Most of the attention is on organizational context variables which influence recruiting and retention success. These are factors which individuals guardsmen and commanders can control.
