Flux Quantization and the Josephson Effect in Extreme Type II Superconductors.

Abstract

This final report on the three year period of ONR Contract N00014-73-C-0315 gives results on development of fabrication techniques and microwave properties of Nb3Ge and Mo-Re superconductor Josephson junctions. Successful fabrication techniques were devised to make junctions operable at comparatively high cryogenic temperatures. The possibility of using radiation-emitting junctions as a frequency-agile microwave source was examined. Some experimental work on microstrip coupling to Josephson devices was performed. Published reports on high operating temperature junctions and frequency agile sources are included as appendices. (Author)
