An Overview of the Shipbuilding Labor Market.
Abstract
This paper provides provisional answers to some important issues relating to the shipbuilding labor market. Implications of recent trends in shipbuilding output for the shipbuilding labor market are first examined. Next, trends in earnings and labor turnover in shipbuilding and other transportation industries are looked at. The paper ends by raising additional questions pertaining to the operation of the shipbuilding labor market that need to be answered by researchers. (Author)
