Investigation of the Effect of Proposed Modifications to an Automated Materials Handling System Using a GPSS Simulation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of loaded and empty carrier buffers in an automated materials handling system. These buffers are intended to ease congestion due to the recirculation of carriers during high load conditions. The analysis will use a GPSS simulation of the system with, and without the proposed modifications.
