Optical Studies of Bonding in Solids.

Abstract

Optical techniques were used to study the properties of solids, both bulk and at interfaces. Evidence indicates the importance of the chemical bond in determining primary optical properties, with the energy bands reflecting long-range order providing the major effect in some energy regions.
