Teaching Tactics: A New Approach

Abstract

The essay is a review of the various methods of teaching tactics at the Command and General Staff College. Peacetime learning and its objective of training for war are examined. In making this review it is found that the current methods of teaching tactics incorporate many techniques and procedures used prior to World War II. The revitalized teaching procedures, within the framework of a modern, dynamic battlefield have meaningful application as tactics are made the imaginative, challenging and interesting art that it is.
