Principles of Training in Marine Corps Task Analysis. Training Manual 1

Abstract

This is the first in a series of five training manuals developed for use by the Office of Manpower Utilization, HQ, USMC (OMU) in its task analysis program. This initial manual is designed for trainers of OMU staff members assigned to the Task Analysis (TA) Program. The objectives of this training manual are: (1) To recommend procedures and training materials for minimizing the time required to orient and train new Task Analysis team members; (2) To increase the period of time new staff members will be productive on a TA team by shortening the indoctrination and training period; and (3) To upgrade skills for increasing the effectiveness and productivity of experienced as well as new members of TA teams. The initial section of this training manual discusses individual competencies required for task analysis and qualifications for TA research. Motivation for training and learning is reviewed and recommendations to stimulate learning are made.
