Scanning Microscopic Evaluation of Canal Debridement as Compared to Present Methods.

Abstract

Samples on paper points were obtained from root canals of 31 teeth at different treatment intervals and evaluated for exudate, bacteriological analysis and/or examined with the scanning electron microscope. Exudate was present on 26 specimens, positive cultures were reported in 41 specimens and SEM analysis revealed presence of debris in 58 specimens. (Author)
