Digital Orthophoto Study Add-On.

Abstract

Digital image processing techniques for orthophoto generation were developed and investigated in a previous study entitled Digital Orthophoto Study. The primary concern of this Add-On is the application of these techniques to a large image area. Two frames of aerial photography were digitized using different devices. The slower device did produce an image whose orthophoto was more accurate. It was found that the process referred to as interior orientation is a crucial factor affecting the accuracy of the final orthophoto as well as the precision with which separate orthophoto segments can be mosaicked together.
