Solar Cell Observables Reduction Techniques.

Abstract

An in-house study of the optical and electrical properties of solar cells has revealed that it is possible to reduce the specular component of reflected light intensity by about three to four orders of magnitude through proper treatment of the cell surface, electrical contacts, and the coverglass. The study revealed that cell coverglasses mechanically and chemically treated to produce a roughened surface will multiply reflect and disperse incident light causing a significant reduction in reflected light intensity.
