Transfusions with Hemoglobin Prepared by Crystallization,

Abstract

The Authors have developed a rapid, simple and reproducible procedure for the preparation of hemoglobin free of stromal or other soluble and insoluble cellular contaminants. The procedure is based on crystallization of the hemoglobin molecule and repeated washings of crystals prior to solubilization and sterilization.
