An Evaluation of Physical Fitness in the 'Pro-Life' Program, 2d Infantry Division, Korea,

Abstract

In May 1973, a comprehensive program called 'Pro-Life' was instituted in the 2d Infantry Division, South Korea. This program included an extensive physical training regimen. The purpose of this study was to: (1) evaluate the effectiveness of this training program in terms of cardiorespiratory fitness and body fat composition, and (2) establish the levels of fitness and body fat according to age as affected by differences in physical fitness in a combat infantry unit.
