NRL Perimeter Radiation Monitoring Program - 1975.

Abstract

The gamma radiation levels at the perimeter of the Naval Research Laboratory have been measured for the year 1975 using CaSO4:Dy thermoluminescent dosimeters. The highest levels detected for the year were 78 mR above background at the fence opposite Bldg. 83 and 59 mR above background at the fence behind bldg. 75. The results demonstrate compliance with all applicable regulations concerning radiation levels to unrestricted areas. This study also indicates that background gamma radiation can be measured with this system with an estimated error of + or - 3% for the year. (Author)
