Economic and Social Evaluation of Capital Investment Decisions - An Application.

Abstract

This paper presents the actual implementation of a risk analysis model to a manufacturing venture undertaken by the government of a foreign country. A major engineering and marketing study was conducted in advance, so that the location and size of the venture were determined prior to the risk analysis. The purpose of our study was to evaluate the profitability of the project both from economic and social points of view. If there had been more than one alternative, the same methodology could have been applied to yield comparative measures of performance. (Author)
