An Inquiry into the use of an Award Fee for Motivation of Subcontract Management.

Abstract

The purpose of this study project was to determine if use of an award fee could be used to motivate improved prime contractor management of subcontractors. The author conducted a literature survey of subcontract management problems; investigated the use and results of incentive contracts including an award fee. The author concludes that the use of an award fee provision in system development contracts could be used to motivate improved prime contractor management of subcontractors. (Author)
