Wire Moments Problems of Large Size.

Abstract

A banded matrix interative solution technique has been implemented in a general purpose computer program to solve thin-wire moments problems of large size. Sixteen examples are presented, with number of unknowns ranging up to 1000. Results for wire grid models of plates, cylinders, and spheres are compared to surface current distributions and far fields from the literature. Pseudoconvergence in the iterative solution occurs for fat cylinders and large spheres when a moderate bandwidth is selected. Useful results are obtained from such solutions.
