User's Manual for the Coastal-Graphics System (CGS) and Dobson's Wave-Refraction Model,

Abstract

The Coastal-Graphics System is a user-oriented computer software system which integrates: (1) Mathematical models of coastal processes, specifically R.S. Dobson's model of ocean waves refracting near shore; and (2) Interactive and graphics display technology. With CGS one can easily and conveniently define interactively various inputs and parameters for a model, run it, and then view its output. One can view the various model outputs in graphical contour plots, interactively change the model's input parameters and re-run it, and then display the new results. The user has a small number of high-level English-oriented commands to work with CGS to exercise the wave-refraction model.
