Developing a Response Relevant Typology of Organizations.

Abstract

Facet analysis was used to develop a typology of organizations which would be relevant to employees' psychological responses to characteristics of their roles. Emphasis was placed on organizational characteristics relevant to employees' responses rather than characteristics which differentiate among organizations. Usefulness of facet analysis for generalizing results to new organizations was discussed.
