Core Looping of Nylon Cordage.

Abstract

Analysis of variance was applied to the numbers of nodules, formed in 438 combinations of conditions, by the looping of core years within the braided sheath yearns, and of penetrations through the sheath, of two nylon cords used for parachute rigging lines. It was shown that the cords differed in core-looping behaviour, and that there was a dependence of this on the sheath tension during manufacture and on the number of plaits/cm aimed at, but not on the core tension.
