Computerized Tidal Currents of Long Island Sound for Search and Rescue Planning.

Abstract

This report describes a simple adaptation of the Tidal Current Charts, Long Island Sound and Block Island Sound (USCGS Publication Serial No. 574) to the problem of computerized search and rescue planning in Long Island Sound. The adaptation combines the charts with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Tidal Current Prediction Program in a simple computer program. The program does not include the effect of wind. (Author)
