Flight/Ground Testing Facilities Correlation.

Abstract

Correlation is ultimately the only way of measuring the validity of any analytical tool or ground test technique. As programs become more and more expensive, and the risks more and more dependent on ability ro predict flight characteristics with confidence, it becomes increasingly important to establish the state of our correlation base. The purpose of this Symposium was to provide an opportunity to focus on correlation as a technology in its own right, the techniques available, and the state-of-the-art as revealed by results. The Symposium was organized around three subject areas: Correlation of basic wind-tunnel techniques; Flight-test techniques for correlation; and Wind-tunnel/Flight correlation.
