Role of Industry in Future Torpedo System Development.

Abstract

The purpose of the study project was to investigate the impact of any reduction of the Industrial base relative to the Navy's acquisition process for future torpedo systems. It was limited to torpedo systems only and was aimed at the role of Industry, specifically in regard to production capability and capacity, although the Government's role was also examined. It was accomplished primarily by interviewing experienced individuals currently involved in the torpedo field, both from the Navy (Military and Civilian) and from Industry. General discussion questions used and the people interviewed and their activities/companies, are listed in the report.
