A Survey of Existing Management Information Systems. Software and Hardware Options.
Abstract
A survey of available management information systems and subsystems to determine appropriate packages for TESPO's needs was conducted throughout the various technical environments. The survey was confined first to automated, and later, to all MIS portions that could be applied to project management, to automated network analyses, and to appropriate subsystems. Twenty systems are reviewed in detail for software, hardware and procedural constraints. A complete economic and overall technical evaluation is assessed each of the reviewed systems. Preferred alternatives, both economic and technical, are presented with guidelines for the next efforts. The survey report will be updated by ongoing contact with the various MIS communities. Also, the preliminary design and development of TESPO's own Management Information System is outlined briefly. (Author)
