Measurements of Energy Losses Associated with Interactions between Acoustic Waves and a Steady Flow Field.

Abstract

This report covers the first phase of an experimental program devoted to the study of interactions between acoustic waves and non-uniform flow fields. Data have been taken in an impedance tube, and in a resonance tube having the configuration of a T-burner. Results are given for the influence of flow through a subsonic exhaust vent on the decay of acoustic waves in a T-burner. (Author)
