Present Concepts in Internal Medicine, Cardiology Symposium, 1976,
Abstract
The symposium consists of ten articles and three tables (for quick reference). It focuses on the management and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. It is designed for use by interns and residents who are faced with treating pathients with arrhythmias. This monograph is a compilation of up-to-date information on available anti-arrhythmic agents. The lead article presents a summary of current knowledge about the electrophysiologic genesis of arrhythmias. The succeeding six articles discuss the various antiarrhythmic agents: lidocaine, quinidine and procaine amide, diphenylhydantoin, beta-blocking agents, digitalis, and some miscellaneous agents. Articles on electrolytes, pacemakers, and cardioversion conclude the 192 page symposium.
