User's Guide to Southeast Asia Combat Data

Abstract

The document presents a detailed guide to the vast body of available combat and combat-related data from the recent war in Southeast Asia, describing the content, structure, and location of machine-readable and textual data files relating to U.S., Allied, and enemy activities in Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam through 1975. Characteristics of sites at which data files are located are given, along with detailed file information. The report also includes a description of data-collection techniques used in this survey, and a chronology of events in Southeast Asia from 1945 to 1975.
