Configuration Control of Subcontractors: How Much Do We Need: (USAF).

Abstract

This study examines the complex problems associated with change control in the subcontract structure. The current policy as specified in DOD and Air Force directives is investigated to determine how the policies address the program manager, prime contractor and subcontractor relationships. Recent changes in subcontract management planning are analyzed along with the current approach to AFPRO surveillance. From the program manager's perspective, this study offers several recommendations for more effective change control without major changes in present directives. (Author)
