Thermo-mechanical Stress Analysis of Advanced Turbine Blade Cooling Configuration.

Abstract

A thermo-mechanical stress analysis capability, based on the Boundary Integral Equation Method (BIE) is developed and described. The method of numerical implementation involves second order surface element discretization with second order variation of key variables over the elements. The capability is varified or a number of test problems in preparation for application to a thermo-mechanical stress analysis problem for a transpiration cooled turbine blade.
