Doppler Effect in Light Reflected from the Ionization Cloud of a Beam of Electrons Propagating in a Stationary Gas.

Abstract

The question of whether light reflected from the trailing surface of a conducting ionization cloud caused by an electron beam propagating, e.g. relativistically, in a stationary gas, shows a Doppler shift appropriate to the speed of the disturbance is examined.
