Design of Sounding Rocket Payloads

Abstract

Contract efforts were in the design, fabrication, testing, and launch support of sounding rocket payloads and related ground support equipment. Specific areas of work related to this report include: payload structures, component packaging, deployment and eject mechanisms, diagnostic components, in- flight sequencing, power systems and control consoles. Also described are electrical and mechanical interfaces with experiments, telemetry systems, attitude control systems, recovery systems and other payload subsystems. A mission description and preliminary design work for the Multi Spectral Measurements Program (MSMP) is also included in this report.
