Modern Treatment of Burns,

Abstract

This monograph summarizes the experiences of treating persons suffering from burns which have been accumulated by the collective of the hospital surgical clinic of the Samarkand Medical Institute, and also uses the data of the modern literature concerning certain questions of the pathogenesis and treatment of burns. Statistical data are cited concerning burns and a method is presented for giving first aid to burn victims. Particular attention is paid to a clear differentiation between surface burns and deep burns from the viewpoint of the role of deep burns of tissues and the development of systemic disorders of the vital activity of the organism; selection of an efficient treatment method is also given particular attention. A modern, highly effective method of dermatome plastic surgery and the surgical treatment of deep burns is also examined in detail. With respect to the possibilities of this method, problems are examined with respect to evaluating the indications for surgery, surgical technique, complications during surgery and following it. Materials are separately presented with respect to treating the aftereffects of thermal burns and the treatment of children suffering from burns.
