The Development of the Professional Army Project Manager.

Abstract

The desired optimum output of a project manager development program is described. The career pattern of the project manager under the current Army Officer Personnel Management System (OPMS) is derived and found to be counterproductive to project manager development. The senior service college selection process forces the project manager aspirant to seek non-optimal career tickets. Recommendations are presented which will better nurture project manager professionalism.
