Group Discriminant Analysis.

Abstract

The standard discriminant function classifies an individual as belonging to one of a number of populations. Here procedures for classifying a group known to arise from the same population are considered. The results indicate a large amount of similarity between the two. Populations having random vectors with identical expectations are included in the investigation and distributional properties given for a special case. Procedures to be employed in practice are also explained.
