Photographic Plates for Emission Spectrographic Analysis,

Abstract

The emulsion characteristics of twelve different photographic plates used in spectrograhic analysis have been compared. Six of these, manufactured by either Eastman Kodak Co or Agfa-Gaevert Ltd, represent possible replacements for the other six, manufactured by Ilford Ltd, as these are scheduled for withdrawal from the market by late 1975. Results are presented for contrast, speed and spectral response comparisons. Recommendations on replacement of the Ilford plates in standard laboratory methods are given and the future work programme is discussed. (Author)
