The Programmable Algorithm Machine (PAM).

Abstract

This is Part 2 of a document which describes a Programmable Algorithm Machine(PAM). Possible application areas for the PAM, proposed in Part 1, Theory, are discussed. A configuration of PAM using special processors is presented and special processor requirements are discussed. PAM characteristics are also discussed briefly. Three application areas for PAM are illustrated: (1) arithmetic algorithms (LORAN), (2) signal processing (Fast Fourier Transform), and (3) structured information processing (character string manipulation and array processing).
