MUSAC II: A Method for Modeling Passive Sonar Classification in a Multiple Target Environment.

Abstract

MUSAC 2 is a mathematical representation of passive sonar classification. The principle attribute of MUSAC 2 is its multiple target capability. The methodology is based on the detection of Lofar lines, Demon lines, and broadband noise. MUSAC 2 uses a sequential, Bayesian decision-making approach. The methodology is designed for use in a Monte Carlo, time step simulation of acoustic warfare engagements.
