Redesign and Improvement of Balloon ML-566.

Abstract

Methods of improving the performance of Balloon ML-566 were investigated in an effort to meet the Army's high-reliability requirement. Numerous balloon designs were evaluated. A single-cell natural-rubber latex balloon was found to meet more of the criteria than any of the other designs considered.
