Antenna Array for Limited Scan Applications.

Abstract

A novel type of S-band line source antenna is described which could become the basis for a relatively lightweight, compact, low cost phased array. The line source is a series-fed array of radiating slots periodically situated in the side wall of an S-band waveguide section. The unit, which utilizes nonreciprocal, latching, ferrite phase shifters situated between adjacent slots, is capable of switching beam position in less than 10 micro sec and is designed to operate at peak power levels >3Kw.
