Are Management Information Systems Really Used by Program Managers.

Abstract

The purpose of the study project was to determine if program managers in the Naval Air Systems Command used a management information system. The study examined the information flow that took place within the program manager's working environment; it identified the information the program manager used and how he acquired it; and finally a comparison was made between the procedures the program manager used to obtain and process the information he required with the functional elements of a formally defined Management Information System (MIS).
