Analysis and Preliminary Design of a Suppressive Structure for a Melt Loading Operation

Abstract

This report is the first in a series describing the development of methods for estimating dynamic loading and plastic response of suppressive structures. It covers application to containment of the blast from an accidental explosion in a melt loading operation, and includes preliminary developments of methods to predict blast loads and plastic structural response.
