Scrap Tire Disposal and Utilization Alternatives: A State-of-the-Art Report,

Abstract

A review has been made of the available worldwide literature which describes techniques and equipment used in the disposal of scrap tires. The operational procedures, feasibility, and impact of each alternative technique are discussed, and current and projected uses of scrap tires are noted. The alternative disposal techniques include biodegradation, incineration, pyrolysis, hydrogenation, sanitary landfill, physical processes, whole-tire disposal and reclaim processes.
