The Effects of Ethyl Alcohol on Behavior Maintained by Concurrent Schedules of Reinforcement.
Abstract
This report describes the effects of ethyl alcohol (ethanol) on the behavior of pigeons maintained by concurrent schedules of food reinforcement (concurrent variable-interval variable-interval schedules). Ethanol had dose related facilitory and suppressive effects on the absolute rate of responding. Ethanol had little effect on the distribution of responses between the two schedules (relative responses). (Author)
