Radar Range Bias Corrections.

Abstract

Over past years, SAMTEC has developed, modified, and improved techniques that determine range bias corrections (sometimes called 'range zero sets') from controlled on-site calibration tests. A goal of this evolutionary process is to continually improve in a practical and realistic sense the quality of range bias corrections in order that subsequent applications of the corrections (Post operationally) to measured ranges will result in a more accurate range data product that is supplied to a User. This report documents in detail the present SAMTEC technique and procedure that is used to derive range bias corrections from data provided by on-site calibration tests. (Author)
